Celebration of Champions – Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin

Vail is home to two of the fastest women on the planet: Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin. This year they won World Cup Globes in Downhill and Slalom respectively. Meet these 2 incredible athletes at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village this Friday, March 29th at 4:30pm!

Vonn won her record 17th Globe (four overall, six straight in downhill, also a record, and four in super G) despite recouping from a knee injury currently in Vail – she had racked up enough points pre-injury to claim the season downhill title.

Shiffrin won her first season World Cup title in slalom with a clutch victory in the final race of the year. 18 year old Shiffrin is a rising star in the ski racing world who was born in Vail and trained at Ski and Snowboard Club Vail.

Come meet both athletes in person and congratulate them on their winning seasons this Friday at Vail! Starting at 4:30 the athletes will talk about thier seasons, what it takes to win a world cup globe, and answer questions from the audience.

Music will start at 4:30pm at the bottom of Gondola One in Vail Village, with Lindsey and Mikaela taking the stage at 5pm. We hope to see you there!
