Conditions Update December 3
November had once in a blue moon conditions. Timberline Catwalk the day before Thanksgiving
The holiday season is just around the corner, and Vail mountain is already looking quite festive. Terrain openings are ahead of schedule, with the Back Bowls and China Bowls open for business, and we have flurries in the forecast today to keep the mountain smooth as a baby’s bottom. An 1″ or 2″ could fall throughout the day (for full forecast click here), so if you’re up in the mountain during the storm make sure to head over to Poppy Field West in China Bowl to ride fresh tracks over perfect corduroy; it doesn’t take much snow to make long groomed runs feel as if they’re covered in more snow than they actually are. Today you’ll likely have the mountain all to yourself, which is the perfect time to enjoy the scenery. One ride on Sun Up Lift (#17) and you’ll be hooked on skiing low season weekdays! Have a fund day, and stay warm.
10:30am update: Clouds are starting to accumulate, so snow seems likely through the day. Also, the mountain is surprisingly empty, and due to the World Cup stop in Beaver Creek which starts on the 5th, this trend should last late into the week. Get out there and enjoy the mountain nearly all to yourself!
Winter is coming Ned, winter is coming. Storm brewing over Sun Up Bowl
December has barely begun and the frontside is fully open! Northwoods this morning
