Why do kids love being a part of the Vail Development Team? 8 year old Kira Hower gives us the inside scoop on what her typical DEVO day is like – between adventuring around Vail Mountain and feasting on mac and cheese, what’s NOT to love?

Tell us a little about your DEVO instructor…
Poweder Day Vail, Vail Kids, Vail Ski and Snowboard School, Vail DEVOMy DEVO instructor was Christopher Lee. He lets us pick moguls or flat runs.

What do you do on a DEVO day?…
First, I stand there with Christopher and wait with Christopher. Next, we get on the bus and ride to Golden Peak. Then, we ski for a while. We ski from Golden Peak then all over the mountain. Some of my favorite runs are Cady’s Café and the race course.  After that, we eat lunch, which is cheeseburgers, mac and cheese, grilled cheese and pizza. My favorite is mac and cheese. Then we ski for a while and we stop for a snack. Then we get picked up.

What is your favorite DEVO memory so far?
My favorite DEVO memory was when we all had snow up to our knees. It looked like giant white socks. It was fun to ski in. I can’t wait to do it again this year.

What would you tell your friends about DEVO?…
I would recommend DEVO to my friends because you can become a better skier. And have FUN!
