Spending the holiday in the mountains, but not exactly sure how to kick off the start to Summer? We have put together a list of activities for you to explore, to ensure a fun getaway!

Dining at Altitudes Restaurant Week

Participating restaurants spanning across two neighboring World Class Mountain Resorts, Vail and Beaver Creek, this culinary celebration takes dining to new heights, literally! The event will run from May 26-June 2 and will feature a wide variety of prix fixe menus and specials all starting at $20.19 and all showcasing the incredible and diverse culinary offerings available throughout the Vail and Beaver Creek Villages.

Betty Ford Alpine Gardens

Betty Ford Alpine Gardens always has their Summer Calendar filled with fun events, tours and special Events. This Memorial Day, enjoy a guided tour through the Gardens. The tour begins at the Education Center and ends at the Schoolhouse Gift Shop. No advance registration required.

Fishing

Fly-fishing is a beautiful way to relax and explore the some of the most serene spots on Vail’s many streams and rivers. Rivers can change from day to day, so utilize Vail’s custom fishing report to get the most up-to-date information on river flow, fishing quality and professional tips to enhance your outing.

Vail Valor Races

Make your Memorial Day Monday count by coming out for Vail’s spring road race in the mountains. The Valor Race benefits the Vail Veterans Program and offers several distances: marathon, half marathon, 5 mile run/walk, and 1-mile. Come out to celebrate fitness and pay tribute to both our nation’s fallen heroes and those still bravely serving!

Shopping

Vail is the premier place to browse, purchase, and explore. Between Lionshead and Vail Village, Vail offers hundreds of shops from boutiques to outdoor gear to art galleries. Find the perfect cowboy boots or hiking boots, jewelry and cocktail dresses, or apparel and art.

Hiking & Biking

Take your vacation to new, unforgettable heights. While the gondolas do not begin their summer hours until June 7, there are still plenty of trails available around town or near-by. With 166 miles of hiking trails and 343 miles of biking trails, there is something for everyone.

Bring your bike or rent one at any of our fabulous bike shops in town. Most Shops have kids rentals, trailers, full suspension mountain bikes, and cruisers. There are bike paths all around the Vail Valley, and trails that allow you to cruise through the Village. If you are looking for a real thrill, take a bike tour down Vail Pass with Vail Sports!

Rafting/Kayaking

Vail is a great place to base your rafting or kayaking adventure from. Boasting its own Whitewater Park in the center of the village as well as Class I to Class V river trips on the Eagle, Colorado, and even the Arkansas rivers.
