Exploring Slope-side Villages

Choose from three unique base areas that all sit right at the base of Vail Mountain, each offering quick and easy access to lifts and gondolas. With a broad network of picturesque, heated cobblestone streets, getting around from village to village during your visit could not be easier.

Explore Vail Village, Lionshead and Golden Peak and get to know each village’s distinct culture and enjoy their world-renowned shopping, dining and entertainment.

The beautiful and friendly Lionshead Village is completely closed off to cars and buses, and offers close walking access to the Eagle Bahn Gondola, the Born Free Express (Chair #8), Lionshead Children’s Ski School, the Alderhof outdoor ice rink, world-class shopping and countless dining options.

With its intimate cobblestone walkways and cozy outdoor fire pits, the European Alps-style Vail Village exudes culture and charm. Established in 1962, Vail’s idyllic village is renowned for its impressive variety of luxury boutiques, award-winning restaurants and inviting art galleries, offering endless amusements for every guest. The heated streets make for a cozy walk up Bridge Street to Gondola One.

Nearby Golden Peak offers a peaceful and convenient getaway, just a 5-minute walk east of Vail Village. Golden Peak has unbeatable access to some of Vail’s best terrain. As the base for the Riva Bahn Express Lift (Chair #6), Golden Peak is also home to some of Vail’s most popular attractions including the Golden Peak Ski School and Vail’s Golden Peak Terrain Park.
