Spring Back to Vail
Spring Back to Vail is arguably the most fun week to be here in Vail, Colorado. We celebrate the countdown to the end of the season with parties, free concerts, the world famous Closing Day Pond Skim and – of course – days spent savoring the last turns until next season.
THE WORLD POND SKIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The long-held Vail Closing Day tradition returns! You can choose to either participate as a pond skimming athlete (register here!) or just watch the bedlam from the sidelines. Participants get to cracks at the Pond Skim with the opportunity to warm up in a hot tub at the base between runs. Venue opens at Golden Peak at 1:30 p.m., Pond Skimming gets going at 3 p.m.
Whether you’re an athlete or in the crowd, costumes are highly encouraged…speaking of costumes:
CLOSING DAY COSTUMES!
One of the most entertaining parts of Closing Day are the creative costumes that people pull out of their closets to celebrate the end of the season. Over the years we’ve seen cows, waddles of penguins, Mario Kart characters, Superman and much more. We encourage you to have fun but, of course, be safe, considerate and tasteful in your costume choices!
