Taking part in 4th of July celebrations in the midst of the gorgeous Colorado Rocky Mountains is a sure-fire way to stir up some feelings of pride in your country.

4th of July celebrations in Vail, Colorado

The Vail community is passionate about our 4th of July celebrations and this year we’re going all out with activities, July 4-7. While you can find the full schedule of Vail America Days events on the official website, here are some highlights of the events we’re most excited to attend:

JULY 4th

1) 8am-10am Community Pancake Breakfast at Vail Interfaith Chapel.

Stacks of pancakes to get your 4th of July started off right.

2) 10am – 12pm Vail America Days Parade: A Tribute to Vail’s 50th Anniversary

Crowds flock the parade route as it wends its way through Vail Village and Lionshead for our much loved 4th of July Parade. This year’s floats will center around the theme of celebrating Vail’s 50th Anniversary as a ski mountain – we’re guessing vintage ski wear, 10th Mountain Division and Pete Seibert/Earl Eaton tributes will abound.

3) 2pm Patriotic Concert Bravo! – Dallas Symphony Orchestra at Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater $14

Another Vail tradition, after grabbing some lunch we wander over to the Ford Amphitheater for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s Patriotic Concert, playing favorites from the Star Spangled Banner to the 1812 Overture. While General Admission seating in the lawn is free, reserved tickets go on sale starting July 1st at 8am at the Bravo! Box Office located at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. Tickets go fast so be sure to get there early! Purchasers must be 16 years old or older.

Gates will open for General Admission seating at 12:30 in anticipation of the 2pm concert.

All proceeds from the Patriotic Concert ticket sales will go to support the Vail Veterans Program, a community-based effort that offers skiing, snowboarding and summer opportunities to amputee veterans of the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

4) 12 – 9:30pm Concerts and food vendors in Vail Village

The Village will be hopping with live music playing all afternoon at Solaris Plaza and Americana-themed food being served in the Village.

5) Dusk FIREWORKS in Vail Village

It’s Vail, you expect an awesome fireworks show. And that’s just what we’ll give you. With the recent afternoon showers, we are currently still scheduled to have fireworks this year! The show has been relocated from Vail Mountain to the heart of Vail Village around 9:30.

JULY 6th

7) Need a little zen in your life after all the festivities? Free yoga at Solaris at 9am should do the trick. BYOM (bring your own mat) or just make use of the cushy artificial lawn.

JULY 7th

7) Vail Farmers Market and free Jazz

It’s Sunday which means it’s the Vail Farmers Market (10am-4pm)! Round out your weekend by stocking up on fresh veggies and treats while taking in the free jazz concert from noon – 3pm.
