Vail Mountain opens for summer operations June 5!
We’re kicking off Vail’s 2015 summer operations this Friday, June 5! Beginning at 9:30 a.m. Gondola One in Vail Village and the Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead will operate for weekend scenic rides June 5-7, and will move to daily summer operations beginning Friday, June 12.
After you’re finished enjoying the mountain, you’ll also be able to check out the vibrant scene at the GoPro Mountain Games. Happening June 4 – 7, this is the country’s largest celebration of adventure sports, art and music, with incredible spectator events, giveaways, and more!
For opening weekend, Vail’s Adventure Ridge will offer fun for the whole family high atop the mountain at Eagle’s Nest. At the base of Lionshead, Vail’s Gore Creek Mini Golf course, situated near the Born Free Express Lift (#8) across from the ticket office, will offer putting fun for all ages.
Hiking and mountain biking trails on Vail Mountain, as well as bike hauls, will not be offered opening weekend June 5-7 but will open as soon as conditions permit.
Later this season guests can look forward to a new hiking center at the base of Lionshead, plus the introduction of summer tubing at Adventure Ridge which will eventually be incorporated into Epic Discovery along with existing activities like the Zip Flyer and challenge courses. Construction is also underway on the new Forest Flyer and canopy tours that are anticipated to debut as a part of Epic Discovery in summer 2016.
