National Safety Awareness Month Schedule- January 2018
Vail Safety Scavenger Hunt
Saturday, January 6th and Sunday, January 7th, Saturday, January 27th and Sunday, January 28th
Any time between 10 am and 2 pm at Chaos Canyon
Join in a safety scavenger hunt on Vail Mountain at the top of Chaos Canyon. All participants who complete the scavenger hunt will be quizzed on one thing they learned and get a gift bag.
School Safety Presentations
All throughout the month of January
Vail Health, Vail Mountain Safety, and Vail Ski Patrol are doing safety talks for elementary through high school students at various school throughout the valley. The real stars are the Vail avalanche dogs and Vail Health has a game show type presentation planned for everyone to participate in with the students.
Helmet Safety and Giveaway
Saturday, January 13th and Sunday, January 14th
10 am to 2 pm at the base of Gondola One, Lionshead and Golden Peak
Join Kim Greene from Vail Health to learn about helmet safety and receive a free helmet with a $10 donation. Will have sunscreen packets with safety cards to hand out, as well.
Ski and Snowboard Registration
Saturday, January 13th and Sunday, January 14th
10 am to 2 pm at the base of Gondola One
Register your board or skis with the Vail Police so they can be tracked if they are lost or stolen.
VMS Safety Booth
Saturday, January 13th and Sunday, January 14th
10 am to 2 pm at the base of Gondola One
Mountain Safety employees will be handing out sunscreen with safety cards, “Know the Code” pins, and signing guests up for the GoPro raffle.
Flight for Life Helicopter Viewing
Saturday, January 20th
10 am at the west side of Chair 2- weather dependent
Get an informative look at the helicopter and its crew at the top of chair 2.
Vail Safety Patrol Dog Meet and Greet
Saturday, January 20th and Sunday, January 21st
10 am to 11 am at Eagle’s Nest
At Eagle’s Nest outpost with an Epic Mix photographer and one of our awesome avalanche dogs!
