What lesson is right for you? A sampling of the Vail Ski and Snowboard School’s 2012/2013 season offerings
Whether you’re taking your first turns on the hill or are an advanced skier or rider looking to improve your skills, the Vail Ski and Snowboard School has lesson packages to suit every level.
With the Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championship coming to Vail this year, we’ve created some new, Burton-inspired lesson offerings:
The “Burton Mountain Experience” is a small, advanced group lesson with some of Vail’s best snowboard instructors. With their intimate knowledge of the mountain and how it rides on a day to day basis, they’ll show you their favorite lines and stashes on our 5,280 acres of terrain. Added perk: your instructor/guide also gets you to the front of the line at every lift.
The class meets at the Burton Store in Lionshead to personally tailor the best demo Burton equipment for your day.
Nervous that you won’t be able to pick up snowboarding? “Learn.Turn.Ride” is a 3-day group lesson package that guarantees you’ll be able to advance past the learner’s slope in three days or we’ll give you a complimentary fourth day. This three pack of lessons can be used over a five day period so that if you need a to take a break for a day or two, you can.
Intermediate-Advanced Adult skiers
“Max 3” is a half-day master’s program with some of Vail’s finest ski instructors for up to three alpine skiers levels 5-9; the perfect size class to fit on a quad chairlift! This small group coaching experience allows you to get focused, personalized instruction from a professional to solidify the fundamentals or help weed out your weak spots.
Intermediate-Advanced girls ages 7-Teen
Does your daughter want to ski like Lindsey Vonn? “Ski Girls Rock” is a lesson product inspired and designed by the Olympic gold medalist and World Alpine Ski Champion. Lindsey modeled the program after her own experience as a young skier and interactions with female role models who inspired her to the greatness she’s achieved today.
The program puts up to four students with one female instructor and focuses on improving skiing skills while empowering girls through the sport. It also creates opportunities to bond, build confidence and develop teamwork.
Women who will be instructing the programs had the opportunity to meet with Lindsey last spring to understand her vision for Ski Girls Rock and hope to convey this same sense to each of their students.
SKIING and SNOWBOARDING
Children ages 3-15
“Ultimate 4” is a group lesson that pairs up to 4 children with an instructor. This small group environment allows the instructor to help your child fine tune their skills while they explore the mountain. As always, group lessons are arranged by skill level and age so your child will be able to enjoy the mountain with their peers.
Private lessons, any age and skill level
Whether you are new to skiing and snowboarding or are a seasoned veteran looking to improve on advanced techniques, Private Lessons from Vail Ski and Snowboard School instructors will take your abilities to the next level.
